Since becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in 2013, Matthew has worked extensively with individuals across the lifespan—from toddlers to older adults—in diverse settings such as center-based treatment, residential programs, schools, and telemedicine. Before becoming a BCBA, he served for several years as a behavior technician, gaining invaluable frontline experience that continues to shape his clinical and leadership approach.
Matthew previously served as a multi-state director, overseeing the clinical and operational components of a medium-sized organization and leading a large team of BCBAs across multiple regions. In a separate role as center manager, he led one of the largest multidisciplinary centers in his area, growing the operation to over 100 practitioners and serving more than 140 patients across applied behavior analysis (ABA), occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, and physical therapy.
In December 2023, Matthew earned his PhD in Organizational Leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University. He is currently preparing to submit a condensed version of his dissertation to a peer-reviewed journal. Upon acceptance and publication, he will be eligible to apply for the BCBA-D designation.
Matthew is also the founder of Rebel ABA: Autism Reimagined, a small consulting initiative through which he has provided leadership and clinical guidance to organizations on a limited basis. He serves as a graduate-level Associate Professor at National University and recently completed a two-year term as a Subject Matter Expert with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
He has co-authored several published articles, including:
An Approach to Cleanliness Training to Support Bathroom Hygiene Among Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Unlocking Positive Change: Applied Behavior Analysis and the Looming Shadow of Tombstone Mentality
A Purview into the Quality of Clinical Supervision in the Field of Applied Behavior Analysis
Known for building dynamic, psychologically safe teams and equipping organizations for long-term success, Matthew remains passionate about advancing quality assurance and bridging the gap between clinical excellence and organizational leadership.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Matthew is a devoted husband to his wife of 15 years, Amberlee, and a proud father to two children—his 10-year-old daughter, Evanescence, and 4-year-old son. He enjoys spending quality time with his family, reading, and unwinding with video games in his spare time.
